"You Are My Sweet Red" Leather, hand-painted antique Valentine postcard from the early 1900s.
The beautiful postcard was mailed to "Miss Grace Bryant" of Arkansas. It is personally inscribed on the front of the card in ink and reads: "As long as Henry is asleep. I wish he was a second Rip-Van Wrinkle"
The backside of the card includes the 1 cent stamp. The address of the exact city is unreadable but the post office stamp reads AR for Arkansas.
This fantastic leather survivor measures a little larger than 5x3. It has age-appropriate wear including, ink fading, scuffs to the leather, and wrinkling of the backside of the card which is normal for the "rough-side" of leather (see pics).
It would look great framed and be the centerpiece of a vintage Valentine's Day decorator's collection!
